Mangalitsa Pork

Our friends at Oakbrook Farm in Middletown, CT are allowing us to share some of their incredible Mangalitsa, the Wagyu of Pork, with our customers! Like Wagyu the fats found Mangalitsa have lower melting point due to their different chemical makeup compared to conventional pork. Mangalitsas are a heritage lard breed native to Hungry and known for their particularly clean lard and well marbled dark red meat.

A side note, I'm told the translation for Mangalitsa is "Hog or pig with lots of lard!"
